What Is UGC NET December 2026


The National Testing Agency (NTA) released the UGC NET December 2026 notification on 8 October 2026. This test checks if you are eligible for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), Assistant Professor posts, and PhD admission.
The exam covers 87 subjects. You take it on a computer, not on paper. Right now, the application window is open and you can apply online.
How to Apply
Follow these steps to submit your application online.
- Visit the official website ugcnet.nta.nic.in and select the UGC NET December 2026 Application Form link
- Register using your own email ID and mobile number (the Meri Pehchaan SSO option is also available)
- Log in with your application number and password
- Fill in your personal details, educational qualification, category, and your choice of examination city and subject
- Upload the required photograph, signature, and certificate (if applicable), including a live photograph capture
- Pay the application fee using Net Banking, Debit Card, Credit Card, or UPI
- Review all the details you entered and submit the application form
- Download and save the Confirmation Page after your payment goes through

यूजीसी एनईटी दिसंबर 2026 क्रैक करने के लिए सबसे पहले अपना सिलेक्शन प्रोसेस दिमाग में क्लियर कर लो - पेपर ी और पेपर आईआई, दोनों सीबीटी मोड में होते हैं और फिर इनके बेस पर merit list बनती है. स्ट्रेटेजी सिंपल होनी चाहिए: दोनों पेपर्स को समान इम्पोर्टेंस दो और डेली रूटीन में पढाई को डिवाइड कर लो, ताकि लास्ट टाइम पे पैनिक न हो.

याद रखो इस exam में कोई नेगेटिव मार्किंग नहीं है, तोह हर क्वेश्चन एटेम्पट करने से मत घबराओ, स्मार्ट गेस्सिंग भी काफी हेल्प कर सकती है.
Pichhle Saal ke Papers (PYQ) Kyun Zaroori Hai
भाई, यूजीसी एनईटी जैसा exam क्लियर करना है तो सिर्फ नोट्स पढ़ने से काम नहीं चलेगा — पुराने पेपर्स सोल्वे करना सबसे स्मार्ट मूव है. इससे पता चलता है की एनटीए पेपर ी में टीचिंग और रिसर्च एप्टीटुड से कैसा पूछा जाता है, और पेपर आईआई में तुम्हारे सब्जेक्ट का level क्या होता है. जितना जल्दी ये pattern समझोगे, उतना कॉन्फिडेंस बढ़ेगा.
लास्ट 5-6 साल के पेपर्स हल करो पेपर के प्रश्न बार बार same टाइप के होते हैं (लॉजिकल रीजनिंग, कॉम्प्रिहेंशन, आईसीटी) — ये pattern पकड़ लो तो हाफ बैटल जीत गए अपने वीक चैप्टर्स को identify करो जो टॉपिक पीवाईक्यू में दो-तीन बार आया और तुमसे गलत हो रहा है, उसी पे एक्स्ट्रा टाइम दो टाइमिंग प्रैक्टिस के लिए भी पीवाईक्यू बेस्ट है रियल exam जैसा प्रेशर फील होता है जब टाइम-बाउंड सोल्वे करते हो नेगेटिव मार्किंग नहीं है, इसलिए पीवाईक्यू सोल्वे करते वक़्त गुएसवरक की स्ट्रेटेजी भी प्रैक्टिस कर लो — काम आएगा सब्जेक्ट-वाइज पीवाईक्यू अलग फाइल बना के रखो, रेविसिओं के टाइम ये सबसे काम की चीज़ बनेगी
टिप: सिर्फ आंसर देख के मत छोडो, गलत हुए क्वेश्चन का कांसेप्ट दोबारा पढ़ो नहीं तो same मिस्टेक exam हॉल में रिपीट होगी.

Eligibility

The age limit applies only if you are applying for JRF (Junior Research Fellowship). There is no upper age limit for Assistant Professor eligibility or PhD admission.
For JRF, your age must not be more than 30 years as on 1 December 2026. Some candidates get extra years added to this limit.
Age Relaxation

- Candidates with LL.M. Degree: 3 years relaxation
- Ex-Servicemen: 5 years relaxation

You need a Master's degree or an equivalent degree from a recognized university.
- General category candidates need 55% marks in their Master's degree.
- OBC-NCL, SC, ST, PwD, PwBD, and Third Gender candidates need 50% marks.
- If you are in your final year or waiting for your result, you can still apply. This is called a provisional application.
- If you have a 4-year Bachelor's degree with 75% marks (70% for reserved categories), you are also eligible for JRF and PhD admission.
