- Exam Pattern: Stage-I (Preliminary), Stage-II (Main), Stage-III (Personality Test/Interview) — 5 sections in all Exam Pattern
- Negative Marking: There are four alternatives for the answers to every question. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate, one-third (1/3rd) of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty. What This Exam Notice Is About

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) issued Examination Notice No. 02/2027-ENGG. on 16.09.2026. This notice is for the Engineering Services Examination, 2027. It is held to fill engineering posts in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Electronics & Telecommunication categories in Group A and Group B services.
How to Apply
- Register on the Online Application Portal at the UPSC website to create an account and get a Universal Registration Number (URN).
- Fill up your URN Profile, including your photo ID details.
- Fill up the Common Application Form (CAF).
- Upload a photograph, and also capture a live photograph while filling the CAF.
- Sign three times, one below the other, on a plain white paper with black ink, and upload the scanned signature.
- Fill the Examination Specific Module: choose your Engineering discipline, exam centre, and pay the fee.
- Submit your application online before 06.10.2026, 6:00 P.M.

Instructions You Must Follow
- You cannot withdraw your application once submitted, and you cannot correct any field after submission.
- The e-Admit Card will only be available on the UPSC website. It will not be sent by post.
- You cannot carry mobile phones, smart watches, Bluetooth devices, or any electronic device into the exam.
- Entry to the exam venue closes 30 minutes before each session starts. Face authentication is mandatory at the venue.
- Use only a black ball pen for the OMR Answer Sheet. Pencils and ink pens are not allowed.
- If you disagree with a question paper or answer key, you get a 5-day window to raise it, starting from the 3rd day of the exam and ending at 6:00 P.M. on the 7th day.
