How To Apply

  1. Go through the notification cum prospectus before applying and check that you meet the eligibility criteria.
  2. Keep your required documents ready in soft form, JPG format, size 10 to 100 kb.
  3. Fill the online application form directly on the NVS website www.navodaya.gov.in.
  4. Fill basic details like State, District (residence and study), Aadhaar number, Class VIII study details, APAAR ID/PEN, and address in the application portal.
  5. Upload your photograph along with signatures of both you and your parent.
  6. Submit the application before the last date, 30th September 2026.
  7. If you need help, use the help desk available in JNVs to upload the application free of cost.
  8. Download your admit card free of cost from the application portal before the exam.

Important Instructions

  • Last date of registration is 30-09-2026.
  • The correction window to modify selected fields opens for two days after the last date of submission. After that, no modification is allowed.
  • No request for change of JNV, category, area, or gender will be entertained.
  • Only a Blue/Black Ball Point Pen is to be used on the OMR sheet. Pencil is strictly prohibited.
  • No negative marking is done. One mark is given for every correct answer.
  • If fraudulent documents are found at verification, your admission will not be given, or will be cancelled even after admission.

You can apply only if you meet all the rules below.

  • You must be studying in Class VIII during the 2026-27 academic session.
  • Your school must be a Govt. or Govt. recognized school in the district where you want admission.
  • Your date of birth must be between 1st May 2012 and 31st July 2014, both days included.
  • You must be a bonafide resident of the district you are applying from.
  • The district where you live and the district where you study Class VIII must be the same.
There are vacant seats reserved for SC, ST, OBC, and Divyang (disabled) candidates.
